The Problem

A growing, UK professional services organisation, was struggling with some inconsistent project requirements and inefficient processes that were overly manual and needed some structure and clear workflows.

While there were some experienced team members, a few had been promoted into analysis roles without formal training.  As a result, there was a clear gap in formal business analysis skills needed to support better organisational decision making and implementation.

The Solution

Rendstaff supported the management team to identify the areas of focus to reskill one team member and upskill those who were out of their depth and required direction and more knowledge and experience.

Through our network of leading UK training providers, we recommended a Business Analyst apprenticeship programme at Level 4 designed for professionals already working in business process environments. The programme offers flexible delivery, practical learning and an industry aligned curriculum which suited the employer’s goals.

Employees from operations and project management along with the aspiring analysts are now enrolled on the qualification, applying the tools and analysis techniques they have learned so far, directly to live business challenges.

The Impact

The organisation is already seeing some tangible benefits with clearer and more consistent requirements across projects.   There has been an improved collaboration between business and technical stakeholders on workflow projects and working to improve end-to-end processes gradually across the relevant teams.  Some learners will progress fully into Business Analyst roles, while others are actively using their new skills and knowledge to improve performance in their current positions.

This investment in apprenticeship programmes has already demonstrated some positive impacts on assessment by the management team.  Their longer term goal is to build internal capability which provides strengths in the team to reduce reliance on external consultants.  They are also recognising that employee development is in fact a key factor to keep employees motivated while improving overall performance in the organisation.

We work with many of the UK’s top training providers to give businesses and individuals access to a wide selection of high-quality Business Analyst programmes, Reach out and have a chat with one of our team about your goals.
